1. Plan a special “mom’s day out” by way of gift cards. For instance, get her a gift card to a coffee shop for morning coffee, a favorite clothing store for shopping, and a book store for browsing and sitting.
2. I don’t know many moms who don’t love a spa day or service.
3. Breakfast in bed (or at least getting up and making breakfast for her) is always a hit.
4. Let her go away for a night. My husband is planning a solo getaway for me this year. Being a stay-at-home
mom of little ones, I rarely get a moment alone. Of course I could invite a friend but I’m looking forward to just being by myself and doing what I enjoy!
5. Have the kids write letters to mom or fill out a questionnaire if they are little (“what do you love about mom?” “What’s your favorite memory with mommy?” etc.).
6.
Create a scrapbook with favorite family photos or print a recent photo of mom with the kids. If mom isn’t in any of the photos (as is often the case!), book a family session with a local photographer.
7. Make her dinner or take her to a favorite restaurant.
8. Flowers. Of course.
