Ever since the Pantone Institute announced its color of the year back In December I've wanted to feature some clothing items for men and women in the color. If you haven't heard yet, the color of 2014 is "radiant orchid." In the Institute's words, "Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple-one that draws you in with
its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health." I can't argue with that! Originally I was going to go with last year's color (emerald) for men but once I started looking I realized there were some great options for men in various shades of "orchid." So without further ado:
Lived in Wash Solid Tall Shirt. Lived in Straight Tall Khaki. Silk
Cotton Cashmere Tall V-neck. Slim Fit Short Sleeve Tall Utility Shirt. Cotton
V-neck Tall Sweater. Aside from the pants, these pieces really aren't as daring as they appear. My guy is a man's man. He's an athlete, athletic build, etc. For years I'd been trying to get him to wear lighter shades (dare I say "pastels"?!) to no avail. Finally last year he bought a lavender dress
shirt. It looks fantastic on him! And there's something very attractive about a man bold and confident enough to wear a "softer" color. Now that I've said that, those pants are daring with a capital D. I included them because they were a fun addition in the right color and if you're bold enough to wear them, I applaud you. But if you're like 99.9% of most men reading this, don't fear; they come in numerous other shades that might be more
tempting!
