Note: Many of these items are not "tall," items. So I did what any tall person has been trained to do when shopping in the 'real' world! I looked for sleeveless (no wrist length sleeves to worry about), ¾ length sleeves, and hip and tunic length tops. The items that do come in tall sizes are noted below.
Fleece Ruffle Tunic
- I picture this for the 20-30 somethings. It would be perfect for running around on the weekends or for stay-at-home-moms like me. I'd love to wear this with leggings around the house, rather than my current uniform of fleece sweatpants. Oops-did I just admit that?
Tiered Ruffle Tank Top
- This pretty shirt is romantic but not over the top. I'd definitely wear this at my current age of...ahem...30 something, most likely with skinny jeans and wedges. But I could definitely see a 40 year old fashionista wearing it with slim black pants and a cardi or blazer. Classy and fresh.
Ruffle Lightly Padded Bra Top- This flirty shirt is perfect for a 20 something. It'd be so cute with colored denim or a maxi skirt.
Anne Klein Sleeveless Ruffle Neck Blouse- This is one of those pieces that any age could wear (20, 30, 40, or 50+). IT's so classic and beautiful. Pair with a pencil skirt, skinny jeans, or slacks. I'd go bold with red pants. There are so many possibilities!
Gabriella Rocha Velah Ruffle Tank
- Another classic shape suitable for any age. I'd suggest it for a 30-40 something. A great piece to transition from the office to everyday wear.
Fitted Boyfriend Striped Ruffle Shirt (Tall). I'd recommend this for the 30+ crowd. It's a little conservative and perfect for layering for spring or wearing solo with colored capris in the summer.
Pleated Ruffle Top (Tall). Call me crazy, but to me, this color and shape would look great on any age! I'd wear it with skinny jeans; my mom (mid 50s) would wear it with wide legged pants or jeans. The shape and color are super flattering.
Long Sleeve White Ruffle Top (Tall). This is another great staple piece suitable for any age. The ruffles give this button down a nice touch of femininity.
*Disclaimer: When I dictate ages for trends it's just a suggestion! I am a firm believer in not boxing yourself in. If you are 50 and feel comfortable wearing a current trend, go for it! There are ways to make the trend work for your age and body type!
