Hi Tall Friends,

What's your go-to comfortable outfit?  I'm not talking sweats and slippers-I'm talking something you slip on when you want to look polished but not too dressy.  Today we attended a birthday party for a little girl turning 1.  I was bringing both kiddos so I wanted to be comfortable and able to move freely to wrangle, er, chase the little ones...yet I didn't want to show up looking like I just rolled out of bed.  That scenario is what brought this topic to mind.  For today's style advice, I'm going to highlight an easy go-to outfit for men and women-One that's comfortable, cozy, and cute, ahem-"handsome" for you fellas.

Here's my formula: Cardigan + skinny jeans/cords + cute boots + big bag {+ optional: scarf, hat, and/or jewelry}.

Mustard Long Crochet Cardigan  or  Beige Open Long Cardigan-  (simply because I couldn't decide): I love these cardigans.  They're perfect examples of what I'm talking about-cute and comfortable. They are both forgiving-oversized and in the case of the open cardigan, a little camouflage in front in case your stomach is your problem area.  Yet, they don't look at all frumpy.  Both are stylish and would work for most age ranges.

Women's Lightweight Boat-Neck Tees (Tall) -  I usually wear a thermal or soft long sleeve top under my cardis.  You don't want to get too warm and this lightweight top is perfect to prevent that.  Choose a unique color (rather than black or white) to add a bit more interest to your outfit.  This tee comes in TEN colors and at this price you might want to buy every last one (or am I the only one who goes overboard?!). This particular color is "coffeehouse brown".

True Religion Brand Jeans Skinny Jeans (Lonestar Wash):  - I love my True Religion Jeans.  They are my go-to brand for premium denim.  This pair has a 34 inch inseam which would typically be a bit short for my 6 foot frame but they're perfect for sticking into boots in the winter and rolling at the ankles in the summer.

Ugg Cydnee - You all know I have a love affair with Ugg Boots as well.  While this pair might not look "comfy and cozy" the great thing about Ugg is that even when they look sleek on the outside they are lined with supple leather, sheepskin, and have a sheepskin inner sole.  This pair goes up to a size 12.

Big Buddha Handbag, Granada Hobo - I love adding a bright color to an otherwise neutral outfit.  This bag adds a touch of glamour to the ensemble.

Men's Wool Blend Shawl Cardigan (Tall) - the same idea works for men.  Cardigan, comfortable T-shirt, comfy shoes and jeans.  This cardigan may look "trendy," to you but trust me when I tell you it's a safe way to wear the "grandpa sweater" trend.  It's an easy neutral color and doesn't have embellishments (i.e. patched elbows, etc). In fact I got my husband to wear this exact sweater recently.  He typically plays it safe with fashion, but once he tried this sweater on he really liked it. He wore it with a button up underneath but a crew neck Tee works just as well.

Lucky Brand 329 Classic Straight in Lip Service (36 inch inseam) - these jeans are awesome.  Their dark wash and simple cut make them an easy choice!

Timberland Mt. Kisco Oxfords (up to size 14).-I specifically looked in the "comfort" section to find these shoes.  Just because you're comfortable doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style. 

Men's lightweight waffle knit tee (Tall) - this staple piece comes in 14 colors so stock up!

And if you have a younger tall daughter, I could go on...and on...and on with the selection.  One thing to remember when ordering from Alloy is that they are tailored to juniors and the sizing is appropriately junior sizing.  For instance if you wear a 6 in misses you'll probably wear a 9 (or so) in juniors.  Once you get used to the sizing, it becomes easier to figure out what size you'll wear.  At prices like theirs, it's worth the risk!
