I've done more outfit compositions and "basics" features lately-it's been awhile since I featured an up and coming trend.  (Actually I might have procrastinated long enough that this trend is in full swing at this point)!  In any case I love it and wanted to share.  As usual, finding a hot trend in tall sizes can prove to be a challenge.  I feel this issue not only when shopping and dressing myself but when writing for you!  I'll often email Krista about how frustrating it is when I have a specific concept in mind and can't find tall items to support it!  You're probably thinking "duh!-welcome to being tall!"  Well I hope some of our blog posts and newsletters can ease your frustrations by providing tall options in the latest trends- or by providing ideas to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe without necessarily being able to find "tall" items.  Make sense?  Here's what I've curated:

Pepe Jeans Fair Isle Roll Neck Sweater Dress : This is probably one of my favorite items featured.  It's a "dress," but clearly it would work as a sweater on us tall gals.  The length isn't given but the model is 5'10 to give you an idea of the dress's measurements.  I'd pair this sweater with jeggings or skinny jeans.

Fair Isle crew sweater (Tall, extra large only).  This is a nice option for women who don't want to go too crazy with this trend.  With its classic cut, it would make a great addition to your winter staples.

Sonia Rykiel Sweater - Fair Isle - For those of you who love designer brands, this sweater is for you!  Unroll the sleeves for ext ra length.  This one would look good over a black dress, cords, or of course, jeans.

Women's Fair Isle Cardis (Tall) - This one is hanging out in my cart! I featured it in a different color in this blog post .  I love it!  I find that I wear chunky cardigans over and over again during the cold winter months.  They're comfy but still stylish.

Calvin Klein Jeans Sweater, Long-Sleeve Fair-Isle Cardigan - To me this is one of the classiest of the featured items.  It looks very polished and even though it's a "trend," it doesn't look like you're trying too hard.  I'd encourage our "age sensitive" readers to consider this one! ;) 

As always, when you can't find the perfect tall piece in current trends, shop for accessories instead! Here you have... 

Keds Champion- Fair Isle (up to size 10) - These are an adorable way to give a nod to the Fair Isle trend.  They come in two additional colors.

Drake's Fair Isle Scarf - A scarf it a perfect way to incorporate a winter themed trend.  The red and blue in this one seem perfect for the holiday season.

Fair Isle leggings - I love these.  I'm not sure I'd be bold enough (or young enough) to pull them off, but man, would I like to try! If you're the young leggy type that can pull off anything, this pick is for you!  If not, consider your tall niece or daughter.  These would look adorable on a college girl walking around campus with her feet in cozy Ugg boots.  She'll think you're so cool for gifting these!

Juicy Couture Angora Fair Isle gloves - Lastly, these gloves are adorable. I'd love to find them under the Christmas tree (hint, hint husband).  I usually cringe at "one size" but they are 11 inches long.  I measured that against my hand and re-measured to be sure (and I hate to admit it but I have rather large man hands).  I was surprised at how long they are.  These would fit most tall women.

I love it when a popular trend is gender neutral.  Guys consider these Fair Isle picks:

Chunky Fair Isle sweater (Tall). This is definitely my favorite of the bunch!  It's so simple for men to look good! Nice sweater, dark wash well fitting jeans, and classic leather boots.  Done.

Men's Fair Isle Zip-Front Cardigans (Big). This sweater is perfect for a casual Christmas party.  Throw a red button down underneath to look even more festive.

Patterned Ragg Crewneck Sweater (Tall).  This sweater looks so "New England" to me!  I'd suggest wearing it with chunky brown boots (think Timberland) and keep it casual.

Ugg Fair Isle Scarf. Just like us ladies, men can use accessories to get their trend fix.  Love the neutral colors in this scarf.

Lambswool Snowflake Fair Isle Hat. This cool hat also comes in red and gray. 

Ugg Fair Isle Glove.  If you like the scarf, go ahead and throw these gloves in your cart as well! ;)  While they are not "tall" sized, they do come in L/XL vs. the typical "one size" fit.

Steve Madden Vaiil (up to size 13). These boots are hot (You didn't know boots could be hot did you?)!  Enough said.

Lambswool Fair Isle Stripe Scarf. The male version of the ladies scarf above.  Perfect for snowy Christmas shopping!
