Hi Tall Friends, Today, I thought I'd bring you a fun feature. In honor of the election (do you plan on voting?!), I figured I'd model our looks after our First Lady and her contender, Mrs. Ann Romney. Don't expect any digs here-I sure know who I support but I'm keeping that information to myself! ;) New Hampshire is a swing state, so I'll be sure to get myself out to the polls and make my voice heard. Hope you will too! Republican or Democrat, Elephant or Donkey, or somewhere in between-fashion is fashion! Without further ado...
Tall origami sheath dress. I love how this dress mirrors the origami folds of Mrs. Romney's dress but the material closely resembles Ms. Obama's dress. The color is beautiful and we know how difficult it is to find a tall dress. I've found accessories to match each of the ladies' looks. First...
The First Lady's Style:
Kenneth Jay Lane Coral and Turquoise Brooch & Christin Michaels - Izzie (Navy Patent) - up to size 12
I love the bold colors in this brooch. The First lady tends to dress very fashionably and takes risks that most First Ladies didn't dare (remember the shorts?!). I honestly couldn't tell if her shoes were navy or black but I went with navy. I love the idea of wearing the same color in various tones. These navy pumps add some interest to the outfit while still playing it safe. Mrs. Romney's Style:
Panacea Mixed Crystal Brooch & Stuart Weitzman - Platswoon up to size 12.
Mrs. Romney also dresses beautifully. Her style is conservative but not void of color. She's got 15 years on the First lady and dresses accordingly. The dress has a bit of a sleeve for coverage (and let's face it-I'm sure if Mrs. Romney's shrug didn't come with her dress, her stylist had it custom made-and no, that's not a dig. If I were the First Lady OR her contender, you can bet your bum I'd have custom clothing)! I loved her choice of nude pumps. No matter your skin tone, you can find shoes that closely mimic it and extend the line of your legs
Now that it's getting chilly, I thought it was a good time to highlight Columbia
as the partner of the week. If you live in a northern climate and/or are outdoorsy, no doubt Columbia is already on your radar. Oftentimes you can find their brand in department stores and major retailers but the site itself offers more variety. In other words, lots of big and tall sizes!
