Speaking of inseam, do you know yours? That may seem like a silly question but I promise I thought mine was a 36 for a few years before I realized it was just a sick condition brought on by never being able to find pants long enough when I was younger and therefore imagining my inseam MUST be a 36 because they were soooo long and I could wear them with super tall heels! Not exactly how it works. In order to find the perfect fit, make sure you measure your inseam the right way.
If you have a friend willing to help, here's what to do:
1. Stand up straight (just a tiny bit of slouching can totally throw the number off).
2. Have your friend take measuring tape and start at the top of your inner thigh (I guess it should be a close friend!). This is where people sometimes make a mistake- make sure it's inner thigh and make sure it's at the top of your thigh.
3. Take the measuring tape to the floor. This is another area of confusion. Don't stop at your ankle or the top of foot. Go all the way to the floor!
(Alternatively you can use a pair of jeans/pants that fit you perfectly and measure from the upper inner thigh to the bottom of those pants. BUT be warned- you may be wearing pants that are too short or too long and just think they fit great (it can happen right?!), so if I were you, I'd measure from scratch)!
This number is your inseam. You can add inches if you always wear heels or thick soles. Or you can buy a few different pairs of pants/jeans that you can wear with flats, tall heels, medium heels, etc.
