Well it's official- fall fashion is upon us! The days here in New Hampshire are beautiful but there is an undeniable crispness in the air in the mornings and evenings...it's called FALL. Football is on in the background, and I have apple pie on the brain. :) Don't get me wrong- I'm still enjoying the last days of summer (went to the beach and the zoo this weekend!), but I'm excited about the new season also...and of course, the fashion that comes with it. To that end... One thing I wondered over the summer is what hot trend will take the place of colored denim? I'm sure you're not surprised since we've featured colored denim so often! I've come to realize that it won't be going anywhere during fall, but some other options have sprung up. Such as, printed denim and colorful cords. If you're wondering how to wear these, here are some tips (and yes, the tips are very similar to the guidelines for wearing colored denim):
- For printed denim, keep your top simple. Either wear solids, layer solids, or wear a fine print that reads as a solid from a distance.
- As with any pattern, you can pick a color from the pattern to wear on top or as accessories. If that pattern ahs a variety of colors all in the same family, you could choose a complimentary color to match.
- Color blocking or color clashing is a great way to inject color into your wardrobe and mix things up! If you want to learn more about color blocking, check out

- If you're nervous about wearing a pattern on bottom, go with a subtle pattern like the one on the Citizens of Humanity Wide Leg pants. Or go simple on top with a solid colored cardigan or blazer.
Hello - This is Krista! Our family just finished moving from Colorado to Utah. We made the decision to move, packed everything up and actually moved in 2 weeks total! It was extremely fast as we had a deadline with school starting. So, I'm a little frazzled with getting kids into the right classes and I'm exhausted.
