Hi Tall Friends,

Hope you had a great week and a fantastic Mother's Day! It was the first Mother's Day my oldest daughter could actually say "Happy Mother's Day," which she whispered to me first thing in the morning! That, coupled with kisses from my bambinos, a dozen roses and a gift card to one of my favorite spas from my husband, made for a pretty good day! I resisted the urge to buy something new to wear to church and brunch on Mother's Day (does anyone else feel the need to wear something fresh and new on Holidays or is it just me?!) and instead decided to channel my shopping energy into the newsletter. Enjoy!

News & Updates & Review

By way of news, congratulations to Krista for being nominated for the Versatile Bloggers award by Elayna at Junoesque . Read this post to learn some very interesting tidbits about Krista. Krista was also kind enough to nominate my other blog, Taste{full}. If you're interesting in shopping tips, kid stuff, party planning, home décor, and/or DIY take a look around!

If you haven't stopped by TallSnob.com or the Tall Clothing Mall Blog here's a quick summary: Tall girl on the go - outfit featuring adorable flats from our partner of the week. For those of you interested in outfits that are appropriate for ages 40+, this would be a great post to read. Check out a collection of polka dots which is bound to make you smile (and totally crave polka dots). Over at Tall Clothing Mall Blog: we're featuring the longest inseam jeans  for tall guys we've seen yet.

Howdy Partner

I can't believe I haven't shown the partner spotlight on Barefoot Tess yet. This is an amazing go to source for ladies with larger feet. I am in love with her tag line- "because style doesn't stop at a size 10." Amen sister! This source has been seen in InStyle as well as other fashion publications. If you wear a size 11 or larger and haven't looked around yet, what are you waiting for?!

Tips & Trends

This week's trend is about color. Again. :)  But this time it's a softer approach. I'm talking about the pastels you've been seeing everywhere. I love this trend because as you know, I love color. But even I sometimes get that nagging feeling that maybe it's too much. Or the fleeting thought, "what if I'm doing it wrong?" Pastels are a little safer and easier to get away with. A couple of ground rules apply: first, be careful not to end up looking like a 12 year old. If you're wearing pastel from head to toe, and pair it with super girly (think ruffles and bows) accessories you run that risk. Throw in a bolder more saturated color, white, black, or khaki to keep it grown up. Also if you do different iterations of the same shade, make one bold. For instance pair pink with red or Kelly green with mint green. That way you don't end up looking like a bottle of Pepto or Mylanta. No one wants that. Other than those couple of tidbits of advice, I've got nothin.' Go crazy!
