Hi Tall Friends,

Hope this week's newsletter finds you well. Over the past week I have been running solo since my husband was out of town all week. I have two young kids and I have to tell you, it's quite exhausting having them all day and all night on my own. One thing that got pushed to the side was looking for wedding wear. My husband's cousin is getting married at the end of this month and I have yet to find a suitable dress. So I decided to kill two birds with one stone- look for a dress for myself while putting together some wedding looks for YOU. Find below wedding looks for the tall fashionista.

 News & Reviews

Have you stopped by TallSnob this week? If not, here's what you missed: Peplum picks- I LOVE this trend and hope it sticks around for a while. It reminds me of a peplum houndstooth skirt I had in the third or fourth grade that I absolutely loved and wore it all. The. Time. I think eventually my mom had to "ruin" it in the wash to stop me from wearing it every day. Even then I was a fashionista. ;) Well since I'm not 10 years old anymore I like it for different reasons- that cute little ruffle is a major camouflage for some problem areas! I love it when something trendy is also practical. Next up: Simple Styling with a shirtdress . Who doesn't love a cute outfit that doesn't require much work?! Lastly, a personal shopping request for wedding wear. The guest is attending a wedding in a French castle. Wow, can I come?! This look is sure to wow, even the French (hee hee).

Tips & Trends

I often say that when you're tall (or petite or plus size- basically anything other than 'average'), it can be tough to look unique or to follow current trends. Often if a retailer offers tall sizes they only do it in the safest way. Think: brown, black, gray. Nothing fancy. Just enough to keep the tall crowd moderately happy while not losing any cash. I can't say I blame them. But it can be quite boring to dress that way. This is why I always say; wear accessories to make an outfit a bit more special. (This works while being confined to maternity wear also--for anyone who cares) ;) The dress below would be perfect for a wedding. It's not too casual, not too dressy and you can wear it more than once for numerous occasions. One beautiful, but simple dress accessorized three ways:

lana tall sheath

Lena textured sheath

leopard accessories

Corso Como "Del" Leopard Heel. Gum Drop Stud in Black. Ashleigh Clutch in Black. Might and Mane Idiom Bangle

This look is for someone with a lot of personality and pizzazz (regardless of her age). She will not be confined to a boring beige dress. I can't pick a favorite from this grouping! I love mixing animal prints (in a classy way) and that clutch is just fabulous!

green accessories

'Santa Barbara' Heel (Green) . Gum Drop Stud in light blue. Mulholland Drive Large Ring. Hobo Vintage Deanna Clutch.

This look is for someone who loves color! Beige is not daring enough for her. These accessories would also make the dress perfectly appropriate for a less formal, outdoor, or afternoon wedding.

color block women's tall accessories

Color Block "Getsome" Peep Toe Pump. Button Earring . Modern Button Ring . Menbur Kalanchoe Clutch

This look is for the glam girl- at any age. The clutch is classically pretty, the shoes remind me of a much more affordable Chanel, and the mod ring and cooler-than-your-mom's pearl earrings keep this classic look young and fresh

Howdy Partner

This week's partner spotlight is on E.L.F .--eyes, lip, face. I love make-up. Shocker right? I literally have 3 cases of it under my bathroom sink (and crammed into other spaces no doubt). I have gotten better in the past couple of years about not buying more since I have so much. But let me tell you, combing through this site to pick a few items to highlight is testing my resolve! Their philosophy is pretty cool- I love this line: "Our products offer affordable and high quality design to enhance your natural radiance." I might get some flak for this, but I am a believer that a little bit of makeup never hurt anyone and if you're naturally beautiful (which I'm sure you are!), make-up can enhance that beauty and give you a polished and finished look. Even if you're not a makeup junkie, there is plenty on this site to tempt you as well. Here are a few of my picks:

eyes lips face makeup

Studio 11 piece brush collection. 100 piece eyeshadow palette. (Currently 50% off!). 4 piece essential nail polish set.

eyes lips and face makeup essentials

Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder. Cleansing Cloths. Essential Beauty Book Eye Sets.

Some of these would make great gifts for mom! And they are currently offering $5 off of your order or free shipping for orders over $25! What are you waiting for?!

Have a great week! Ciao for now.
