Hello Tall Guys & Gals,

Hope you're having a wonderful Valentine's Day so far! Valentine's day is one of those holidays that some people love while some people hate it. Have you ever heard (or do you yourself recite) one of these sentiments:

"I don't need a specific day to show my love"

"It's just a manufactured holiday in order to get us to spend more money."

"Giving jewelry or roses once a year doesn't prove my love."

Well all of those might be true. Nevertheless, I love Valentine's Day. And here are 10 reasons why:

1. I love that it forces me to do something nice for or say something nice to another human being...Let's face it, if left to our own devices, we would often forget to tell our husbands how much we love and appreciate them (even when they forget to take the garbage out).

2. Whether we're single or in a relationship, it reminds us that we love someone...that someone might be our boyfriend, fiance, or wife...but it could also be our sister, best friend, or mom...and that's awesome.

3. It gives me an excuse to go into Victoria's Secret.

4. One word: CHOCOLATE.

5.Two words: Fancy Dinners.

6. It's an excuse to dress my daughters up in red and pink and fancy hair bows.

7. It is the impetus of the heartfelt cards, flowers, and date nights shared with my Valentine over the years.

8. It makes me love LOVE.

9. It gives us another excuse for a last minute run to Target.

10. It makes us realize how blessed we are to have people in our lives who love us and who we love dearly.

Ok, so that's all the sap for the week. Hope you enjoyed it!

Tips and Trends

In honor of Valentine's Day I figured I'd use this week's tips and trends to discuss how to bring sexy back- regardless of your shape and size. If there's ever a day us ladies want to look like bombshells, February 14th is that day. So here are 5 of my bombshell picks regardless of body type:

5 tall women's items to bring sexy back

1. Joe's Jeans - I have said before that a dark wash flared jean is flattering on every body type. And I mean it! If you have a butt or if you don't, if you have a long torso or a short one, dark denim is slimming and a flared leg balances one's frame.

2. Nine West Platform Pumps - The great thing about shoes is that they always fit. One needn't be a super model to be able to wear a sexy pump. I love this nude pump- it elongates the leg and makes ankles look slimmer. The sexy platform and patent leather just screams HOT.

3. Lace Woven Top - Every woman should have something lace in her closet. I chose this option because it is a safe alternative to what you might think of when you think of lace. It's still sexy when paired with the right pieces (skinny pants/jeans and metallic heels perhaps?!), yet it's almost an eyelet and a knit which is more forgiving than classic lace. It also has ¾ sleeves which look great on thin arms but also flatter fuller figures.

4. Shiny Lip Gloss - Another item that fits every figure and every budget. Depending on what publication you're reading shiny lips may be in or out. But honestly, shiny lips just look fuller, sexier, and kissable. Who cares about the rest? I love this shade because it's flattering on most skin tones but if you're brave, skip the nude and get a bright red or pink. You can totally get away with it on Valentine's Day!

5. Suzi Chin Dress, Silk Chiffon Empire Waist - I'm sure you're aware that every woman needs an LBD. And you've probably also heard that the little black dress no longer has to be black. It can be red, metallic, chocolate brown--really any figure flattering dress that you can wear on a date night, to a cocktail party, or to a wedding does the trick. I love this one for so many reasons. First, its length is perfect for tall women. Because the hem hits well below the knee, even if you're tall, it won't end up being a mini. Secondly, it has the universally flattering silhouette. Most women are smallest under their bust line so accenting that area with a loose bodice is your best bet. Notice that the product description says, " Fit: form-fitting at bust; more relaxed below empire waist." That's just what you want! It's also ideal for tall women because the loose bodice means you won't have weird seams at all the wrong places!
