Hello Tall Guys & Gals,

It's Tall Tuesday and this Tuesday is even more special than most. No, it's not because the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl. [I live in New England- I just can't help myself!]. Tall Clothing Mall turns FIVE today! Though I haven't been a contributor to Tall Clothing Mall since the very beginning, I can still appreciate the magnitude of this anniversary. Any business that has such a low barrier to entry (a blog or website for example) also has a high rate of failure. To make it five years is a huge blessing and we have only YOU to thank! Here's Krista to talk a bit more about the anniversary and what it means for you (hint: GIVEAWAY time!!!).

From Krista:

Hello everyone! I just wish I could give you all a big {HUG} and tell you "THANKS" for sticking with me. I started out on a rather homely website with an idea, but wasn't sure how to accomplish it. You stuck with me while I self-taught myself all of this crazy website stuff.

Through trial and error and lots of feedback from all of you we've become bigger than I could have ever imagined! I am truly humbled and thankful you put your trust in me and my team. I look forward to many more years helping you look your best!

On to the fun stuff. One of you is about to win a $50 gift card to any store featured on Tall Clothing Mall. The lucky number is....

Back to Tiffany:

The biggest piece of news is the anniversary so I won't spend too much time detailing other happenings or spotlights. I do want to mention that if you haven't been to the Tall Clothing Mall Blog or Tall Snob, head on over to catch up! Fitness week came to a close. We had fun researching and sharing the plethora of workout gear aimed toward tall men and women. Hopefully you're still on track with your New Years' Resolution to stay fit and have the gear to help you do it. Now that we got our workout on, it's time to reward ourselves with a cute Spring look and we've whipped up a couple for your shopping pleasure. And if you're heading out for a winter vacation (to somewhere warmer than my current 14 degree temperatures), check out the beach look we've put together. Men, there are a few posts geared toward you this week. We'd love to know what you think about men wearing slim/skinny jeans.

Please feel free to leave a comment-especially if you have other sources or ideas to add! We love to hear from you.

Under Review

I went a little crazy at Christmas and ordered several pants/jeans. In my defense it was the first time I'd purchased non maternity pants in about a year. So I was due (no pun intended). I was mostly happy with my purchases. I wanted to share a short review on a hit and a miss since the scary thing about online shopping is having no idea if the item that ends up on your doorstep is anything close to the item pictured and described online.

First, the miss:

tall leggings

These legging jeans just didn't do it for me. I can be pretty frugal and for the price I just didn't feel that these fit well enough. My biggest issue is that I don't understand why they are called "jeans," because the fabric isn't even close to denim. They don't look like denim nor do they feel like denim. They seem like very lightweight pants. The shade of blue also threw me off. I'm not sure if they are supposed to look like light denim but if that was the goal, it was a failed attempt. They weren't awful but they also weren't great. The one pro? They are very long. I'm 6 feet tall and had plenty of room to spare.

And now the hit:

gap 1969 tall trouser jeans

These, I loved. No matter how trendy skinny jeans are, I will always gravitate toward a flared silhouette. And so should you! Oh wait does that sound too bossy? Well the truth is any figure looks good in a flared cut. And for us Tall Fashionistas, the line of a flared leg really balances our tall frames. They give us curves if we're lacking and if we have ample curves they accentuate them in such a flattering way. These are no exception. And though I consider these flared, they are a bit more wide legged than your average flare which looks so chic with a slim fitting top. In fact, I wore them today, with a bright green fitted sweater tucked in, a long gold necklace, and cognac colored boots. Another pro? The price! I am a believer that if you're going to splurge on an item, jeans are a good way to go. However these are very affordable. Like the other pair, they are also very long; in fact I will have to hem them. But better too long than too short (who would think there would ever be a day when I could say that?!) Because these jeans are fairly lightweight, they will also be great for spring. The bright blue denim wash looks great with bright colors and I can't wait to transform them for spring with bright heels. In fact, they would look killer with a bright red or yellow wedge.
